Guarda una videopresentazione sul canale YouTube dell'insegnamento.
L'insegnamento mira a presentare e discutere le maggiori teorie filosofiche riguardanti il senso, la significazione, la comunicazione, e i linguaggi. Le teorie semiotiche sul senso vi vengono trattate con attenzione particolare.
L'insegnamento segue due direttrici fondamentali: l'una, più generale, riguardante le ideologie semiotiche e la loro trasformazione attraverso la storia delle tecnologie della comunicazione, dalla scrittura al digitale; l'altra, più specifica, riguardante il tema del VOLTO come interfaccia fondamentale della comunicazione umana (Progetto ERC FACETS: www.facets-erc.eu/).
The course aims at presenting and discussing the major philosophical theories concerning meaning, signification, communication, and languages. Particular attention is given in dealing with semiotic theories on meaning.
The course follows two essential trajectories: the first more general one, about semiotic ideologies and their transformation throughout the history of communication technologies, from writing to the digital; the second more specific one, about the theme of the FACE as fundamental interface of human communication (ERC Project FACETS: www.facets-erc.eu/).

Il programma ha un andamento fortemente seminariale. Consiste nella presentazione e nella discussione di testi filosofici e semiotici sulla comunicazione così come nell'analisi di artefatti culturali attraverso la metodologia della semiotica filosofica e antropologica. Il tema seminariale di quest'anno è il seguente: "Visage Innovatioins in Social Uniformity Systems" (VISUS).
Il modulo della professoressa Voto si baserà, invece, sui seguenti contenuti:
- Le ingegnerie dell’im/possibile facciale: un’introduzione
- Face recognition e ingegnerie di identificazione ai tempi delle intelligenze artificiali
- Morfologie fetali e ingegnerie visive della riproduttività umana
- Deepfake e ingegnerie queer
- La disidentificazione del volto e le ingegnerie algoritmiche su TikTok
- L’espansione del volto e l’ingegneria artefattuale
- Ritratti dall’Africa Orientale Italiana e ingegnerie della colonialità
- Volti tentacolari e ingegnerie mitologiche: Medusa e Chtulu
The program develops in a seminar form. It consists in the presentation and in the discussion of philosophical and semiotic texts on communication as well as on the analysis of cultural artifacts through the methodology of philosophical and anthropological semiotics. The seminar's topic of the present year is the following: "Visage Innovatioins in Social Uniformity Systems" (VISUS)
Professor Voto's module will be based on the following contents:

Modalità di insegnamento
Il corso (72 ore, 12 CFU) si compone di due parti: la prima, di 48 ore (8 CFU), impartita dal titolare del corso, il Prof. Massimo LEONE; la seconda, di 24 ore (6 CFU), impartita dal docente a contratto.
Le lezioni avranno luogo sia in presenza che su Webex. Saranno videoregistrate e messe a disposizione attraverso il canale Youtube del progetto FACETS.
Al corso parteciperanno anche numerosi relatori nazionali e internazionali.
The course (72 hours, 12 CFUs) consists of two parts: the first, of 48 hours (8 CFUs), given by the course holder, Prof. Massimo LEONE; the second, of 24 hours (6 CFUs), given by the adjunct lecturer.
The lectures will take place both in-person and on Webex. They will be videotaped and made available through the FACETS project YouTube channel.
Several national and international speakers will also participate in the course.

Scelta e studio di tre dei volumi in bibliografia, due per il modulo del Prof. Massimo Leone, uno per il modulo della Prof.sa Cristina Voto; oppure due volumi per il modulo del Prof. Massimo Leone e quattro articoli per il modulo della Prof.sa Voto. Preparazione di una tesina scritta di dieci pagine, da consegnare non più tardi di 7 giorni esatti (ignorare ogli altra indicazione diversa da questa) prima dell'appello prescelto. Selection and study of three of the volumes in the bibliography, two for Prof. Massimo Leone's module, one for Prof. Cristina Voto's module; or two volumes for Prof. Massimo Leone's module and four articles for Prof. Voto's module. The course will unravel in Semester I starting September 21, 2023. Our assigned schedule is 8:00 - 11:00 a.m., Thursday and Friday, for Prof. Massimo Leone's module, and 8:00 - 11:00 a.m., Thursday and Friday, for Prof. Cristina Voto's module.
The schedule will be as follows:
Prof. Massimo Leone's course will begin on September 21, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. and end on November 24, 2023 (total of 48 hours, 8 CFUs); Prof. Cristina Voto's course will follow (total of 24 hours, 4 CFUs).
